Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Taskieo ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Taskieo mobile application, website, and related services. By using Taskieo, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. You may also provide a phone number during verification.

Profile information: Customers can save a service address (street, city, state, ZIP code). Taskers provide a display name, job role, company name, biography, work type, and profile image.

Location: With your permission, Taskieo accesses your device GPS to show nearby services and Taskers. Your approximate coordinates are used to query our servers and are not permanently stored as a precise history. Customers may also save a home address (city, state, ZIP) in their profile, which is used as the default search center.

Booking information: We store details of bookings you create or accept, including the service, date, time, service address snapshot, price, and status.

Messages: Messages sent between Customers and Taskers are stored in our database to deliver and display the conversation.

Reviews and ratings: Reviews and star ratings you submit are stored and displayed publicly on service listings.

Payment information: Taskieo does not store full payment card details. Payments between Customers and Taskers are processed by Stripe, Inc. We store booking payment status, Tasker earnings records, and payout references.

Subscription information: Subscription status and plan tier (Free, Taskieo Plus, Pro, Business) are billed through Stripe and stored on your Taskieo account.

Push notification tokens: If you grant notification permission, your device push token is stored on our servers to deliver booking, message, and other notifications.

Device and technical information: Our servers automatically log standard request metadata such as IP address, device type, operating system, and request timestamps for security and reliability purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Taskieo marketplace • Match Customers with nearby Taskers based on location and service area • Process and manage bookings, payments, and payouts • Deliver in-app, push, and email notifications about bookings, messages, and account activity • Enforce subscription plan limits and benefits • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations • Respond to support requests • Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

With other users: A Customer's first name and booking details are shared with the Tasker they book. A Tasker's public profile (display name, service listings, reviews) is visible to Customers.

Service providers: We share data with third-party providers that help us operate Taskieo: • Stripe — payment processing, subscriptions, and Tasker payouts • Resend — transactional and notification email delivery • Expo — push notification infrastructure • Vercel — website hosting and, if you allow it, anonymous page-view analytics

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Taskieo, its users, or the public.

4. Location Data

Taskieo can show nearby services from a ZIP code or address you enter, or from device location if you choose “Use my location.” The website never asks the browser for GPS until you take that action. Location is used to match listings in your area and is not tracked in the background.

If you deny location permission, you can still use Taskieo by entering a ZIP code or address.

5. Cookies and browser storage

The Taskieo website does not use advertising cookies.

If you allow preferences, we store a small amount of non-sensitive data in your browser (local storage) so search is easier on a later visit: ZIP code or selected location, recent service searches, and recently viewed listings. You can turn this off or clear it from Privacy preferences in the footer.

If you allow analytics, the production website uses Vercel Analytics to count anonymous page views. This is optional.

Necessary storage includes remembering this privacy choice, a signed-in session after you log in, and a guest booking you open from a private email or SMS link. Guest booking access uses that private link, not cookies or local preferences.

Taskieo does not store passwords, payment card details, or booking access secrets as marketing or preference data.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed password storage, and token-based authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Booking and transaction records may be retained for longer periods to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution requirements. If you delete your account, your personal information is anonymized rather than immediately erased where retention is required.

8. Account Deletion

You can request account deletion from Settings on the mobile app (Profile → Legal → Delete account) or by contacting us. We will anonymize your personal information (name, email, address, phone) from our records. Booking history, transaction records, and reviews may be retained in anonymized form for legal and business purposes. Your access will be revoked immediately.

9. Your Privacy Choices

You can: • Update or correct your profile information from the Profile screen • Change your notification preferences in Settings • Change or clear website search preferences from Privacy preferences in the footer • Request a copy of or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at [PRIVACY EMAIL] • Revoke location permission at any time through your device settings

10. Children's Privacy

Taskieo is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [PRIVACY EMAIL] and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Taskieo after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
